Measuring For Your Cabinet Glass

To help you get the exact sizes you need for your new cabinet glass installation we have provided these measuring guidelines. These measurements are critical to ensure a perfect fit for you new cabinet glass. They will also help you in calculating the cost of your cabinet glass for quotes and when ordering.

All cabinet door glass are cut with square corners as a standard form of measurement. Be aware that some cabinet doors have rounded corners. Be sure to check your cabinet door for square or rounded corners, this information is required at the time you place your order. Small “dime shaped” corners are available at a small extra charge and do not require a pattern. Larger rounded corners will require a pattern to be mailed to us for a quote.  Faxing or emailing is not an option as a reliable source for measurement due to shrinkage.

Special shaped cabinet openings such as arched top will need a pattern.

! Important  Tip: You must always measure the WIDTH of your cabinet door opening first.

From the backside of your cabinet door, measure the width of the opening.

Round the measurement down to the nearest 1/8 of an inch.

Example:   Cabinet door measurement - 12”
                  Round measurement to - 11 7/8”

Example:   Cabinet door measurement - 15”
                  Round measurement to - 14 7/8”

Using the same technique, measure the height of your cabinet door and round down to the nearest 1/8 of an inch.

When referring to your sizes, please use the format width x height. If your cabinet door measurements with deductions were:

Example:   Width was 11 7/8”
                  Height was 14 7/8”

You would order your cabinet glass as: 11 7/8” x 14 7/8”

If you are ordering for more than one cabinet door be sure to measure and list each door separately. All glass openings are not the same size, even if they look like they might be.

! Important  Tip: When measuring the opening for your cabinet glass, number the first measurement #1 - then “tag” your door, by means of your choice, with #1.  Do the same with #2, #3 and so on  until each door has a number. When your glass arrives you will know which measurement goes to that door.
